Officers of Ireland’s National Police and Security Service (Gardaí) have detained a man in his 50s during an ongoing money laundering-related search and arrest operation in Tallaght. Gardaí from the ‘M’ District Drugs Unit led the operation, working in collaboration with the local authorities.
The authorities made the arrest under Section 4 of the jurisdiction’s Criminal Justice Act 1984. Furthermore, the authorities seized cash of around €8500 ($10k) during this operation. In addition, mobile phones and expensive clothes were also seized.
This operation was part of an ongoing investigation suspected money laundering investigation. The search and arrest came after the seizure of cash of €49k ($58k) in the Tallaght area in August 2020.
