Police in Bosnia’s Federation entity, FPD, announced on July 18 that in a dragnet code-named “Perac” [“Launderer”], they had arrested 84 persons – but the detainees did not include the organizers of the group suspected of money laundering and fraud.
A Swiss company, Dunmorr Group, is under scrutiny on suspicion of having falsely presented itself, defrauded citizens of EU counties and laundered money, police said.
The FPD said at a press conference on July 18 in Sarajevo that the arrested people were members of a group that conducted dubious transactions with foreign stock markets, encouraging German, Swiss and Austrian citizens to invest money that they lost in the end.
“Their actions harmed the Bosnian budget to the tune of around a quarter of a million euro,” police inspector Edin Vranj said, “while citizens of west European countries, according to current estimates, were defrauded by around 2.5 million euro.”
