The Netherlands’ Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) has arrested a 51-year-old male resident of Leiden for tax fraud.
The FIOD began its criminal investigation into the fraud after tax authorities conducted their due diligence.
The detainee is a business owner who purportedly either submitted incorrect sales tax returns or none at all. The monetary loss due to this tax fraud has amounted to over 620,000 euros ($754,000) for the Dutch treasury.
