HSBC and UBS and many other foreign investors have stopped issuing P-Notes as there was a misuse of these. These once were a popular instrument among foreign investors to invest in Indian markets.In the months of October to December 2016, there was a decrease in outstanding values of the P-Notes. As of December, 2016 the P-Notes issuer HSBC Bank Mauritius Ltd., has stopped issuing furthermore and posted nil outstanding values.
