GOVERNMENT has approved funds to train frontline enforcement personnel in an effort to fortify the Turks and Caicos Islands against money laundering risks and combat terrorist financing. According to a post Cabinet statement issued on Wednesday, August 3, Cabinet approved recommendations of the TCI Anti-Money Laundering Committee for the expenditure of $24,910.
The money will be spent on Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Standards Training and Pre-Assessment Training. These training sessions will target members of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) the police, customs, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and those who are on the ground dealing with these issues.
