The Cybercrime Team of the East Netherlands Police has seized various cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in an ongoing investigation. NFTs, commonly in the form of digital art, are unique digital records on a blockchain that can be worth millions of dollars in some cases.
In an ongoing investigation into the illicit trading of private data, the Dutch police have successfully seized several NFTs as criminal proceeds.
Note that Dutch police officials have increasingly been seizing cryptocurrencies in their investigations of cybercrime. However, this is the first time they have seized NFTs.
